The Network Behind Pathmaker
The right work,
at the right moment,
against a case we've already made.
As AI adoption matures, the questions get more specific, and the stakes rise with them.
Done well, the value compounds. Handled carelessly, so does the risk.
Pathmaker’s role is the one most companies are missing: a standing lead on AI.
But we also keep close a small, exceptional circle of battle-tested partners with proven expertise in their own domains, brought in only when a project genuinely calls for it.
AI for research, workflows and collaboration
Foundations only take you so far. Once your teams are confident, the more advanced use cases begin to surface. And these ideas will take you beyond your desktop AI app. This could be, for example, research companions that find the information you need, pricing or procurement intelligence, process automations that soak up the heavy lifting, or new structures and frameworks to help teams to collaborate with AI – and with each other.
This is where AI stops being a productivity conversation and becomes a transformative one. And it is where most adoption journeys flounder. Either the ambition shrinks to fit the tooling, or the build ends up in the wrong hands and comes back as a disappointment.
As you push AI further into the business, you need to consider questions like:
Which use cases justify a custom build, and which are better left to off-the-shelf tools?
How do we specify a build so it survives contact with reality?
How do we make sure what we build holds up under regulatory or client scrutiny?
And how do we avoid paying six figures for something we outgrow in a year?
This is mission-critical thinking, and for a regulated or high-stakes business, some of these questions have very different answers.
This is where I stop and bring in a team I trust. I have worked with Will Hardman, one of the founders of Veratai, for over a decade. He and his co-founders were once a client of mine, in an earlier chapter of both our careers, and we have worked in each other's orbit ever since. Now we work together properly.
You can now skip the hardest part: finding a build team that understands your business as well as the technology. The strategy and the build sit in one conversation.
What they do best:
- Research agents
- Agent / team collaboration tools
- Workflow automation, methodology-led and engineered to fit how your business actually runs.
